(behind St Barnabas Church, between the churchyard and Bradwell Infant School)
We have been at Bradwell New Vicarage since early 2020 It is a medium to large garden, divided into an enclosed rear garden, and a more open driveway area where we encourage community access.
In the enclosed area, we have introduced a woodland wildflower area, a wildlife pond (which now has newts and frogs), a wildflower meadow and a dry hedge. Our focus throughout is on increasing plant and insect diversity, and we notice this is increasing the number of birds, and range of species, that are present.
The driveway area is being left ‘wild’ as far as is reasonably possible. We have replaced a huge snowberry thicket with a mixed species, native hedge, a ‘woodland path’ between mature trees, and thickets of young blackthorn, hawthorn and crab apple. Bradwell Infant School use the space for their weekly after-school Forest School Club.
No need to book.
Open Saturday and Sunday 12.00 – 4.30 pm
