Regenerative Hope Valley

Download the Prospectus

Our vision is to develop a sustainable energy system that contributes to a cleaner, healthier, and more resilient community. Village by village we will bring people together in search of solutions to energy. We will make our homes warmer, healthier and cheaper to run, we will produce electricity locally to heat our houses and power our vehicles and we will store power for when the sun doesn’t shine, and the wind doesn’t blow.

We will make Hope Valley a beacon for the rest of the Peak District and other national parks with traditional housing.

  1. We live in a new house with 91% energy rating. Our insulation, PV panels and battery are our main reasons for this. However, the builders still fitted a gas boiler and kitchen hob! Finding ways become more green inspires us and we will support any such scheme. The production of local electricity appears the most feasible way forward. It would be good to have a process whereby we could dispense with the grid and standing charges.

  2. I would like to think my village of Holymoorside could be interested enough to plan a similar sceme. And I look forward to news of progress.

    1. Sheila. That’s great. The whole idea is to encourage other communities to do something similar and demonstrate to policy makers that it is feasible to save energy by retrofitting our homes and to generate and store electricity locally.
