Join the HVCA Energy Group
Following the success of our recent Energy Summit, the Energy Group met on 4th July and agreed to take forward four exciting projects. We’d love for you to get involved. Whether that’s diving into a project, coming along to a meeting, or simply finding out more.
Our Four Project Areas:
Solar Panels: Promoting solar PV installation on community, commercial, and other larger buildings (including schools — not domestic properties). This may extend to retrofit, battery storage, grid connectivity considerations, and further fundraising projects similar to our work with Edale Village Hall.
Advocacy and Campaigning: Developing a campaign to push boundaries on planning consent for solar PV, and responding to relevant consultations.
Local Retrofit: Exploring the possibility of the Hope Valley becoming a cluster for a local HEAT hub, with home energy advisors based in each village.
Information and Awareness: Continuing our popular online speaker meetings, liaising with local schools, and keeping the Energy Group pages on the HVCA website up to date.
No experience necessary Whatever your background, if you care about energy and climate action in the Hope Valley, please come along.
Meeting Schedule The Energy Group meets every two months, alternating between online and in-person sessions.
