Faith and Climate Meeting

The next meeting of the Hope Valley Faith and Climate network will take place on Wednesday 4 May from 7.00 to 8.15pm at The Hub in Hope.
We will be focusing on:

  • ‘Green Christian’ –  An introduction to the Green Christian movement, with input from John Payne, one of the trustees of Green Christian, who lives in Edale.
  • Eco-Church  – Are you thinking about getting your congregation signed up to Eco-Church? A chance to share your experiences so far, and hear from others.
  • Practical ideas for action – A chance to share what climate action you or your congregation are undertaking or considering doing, around worship and teaching, buildings, land, community and global engagement, lifestyles.

The Hub is the Methodist Church Hall in Hope, situated on Edale Road a few minutes walk from the main shops.
The Faith and Climate network is an informal network of people of faith in the Hope Valley who have got together to share encouragement and ideas for faith-based action for the climate. We held an initial meeting in Hope in October 2021 which looked at COP26 from the eye of faith; and a follow up meeting on Zoom in February 2022 where we heard about the Eco-Church scheme. We are considering running further events later in 2022 and would love to hear your ideas about what would be helpful.
