Art Trail by Rail Volunteer Meet-up

For the second year we’re running the Hope Valley Art Trail by Rail, which takes place 26-27th September 2026. This is a 2-day event where visitors can hop on and off the scenic railway line to explore local art and creativity in the Hope Valley.

We’re looking for volunteers and Artists to join our Art Trail by Rail Planning Group to make this event a success. Our next volunteer meeting will be held at The Angler’s Rest, Bamford, on Tuesday 28th April, 1-2pm.

How can I get involved?

The planning group meets every 2-3 weeks to discuss the logistics, venues, communications, local partnerships and promotion. As well as this core planning group there is lots to get involved in for the event including:

  • Attending meetings like these to support the event coordination and logistics
  • Collaborating with local businesses for art supplies and sponsorship
  • Delivering smaller events or workshops in the runup to the event itself. Last year we worked with the local primary schools and ran an art competition based on the Hope Valley Railway.
  • Delivering an art workshop on the weekend of the festival
  • Helping promote the event by putting up posters and delivering leaflets to local cafes/businesses
Volunteering at the event itself by setting up venues, putting up signage, welcoming visitors at venues and train stations.

If you would like to be involved in the project, either as an Artist, volunteer on the day, be part of the planning group or just to be kept in the loop please fill in our short online form – Register your interest here. If you have any questions or would like further information, please email EmilyGait@hopevalleyclimateaction.org.uk

The event is finished.
