Would you like to reduce your electricity bill?

The early results of a project, established by Sustainable Hayfield, has found that there are considerable cost savings of up to 30% available by switching to ‘Time of Use Electricity’ tariffs without necessarily changing lifestyles.

Even greater savings can be made on a time of use tariff by avoiding using electricity in the daily period between 4pm and 7pm.  For example, cooking earlier in the day if you use electricity for cooking.  It is clear this saves carbon emissions (by reducing the need for gas powered generation) and reduces your electricity bill.

There are also times when consumers are paid to use electricity on a time-of-use tariff.

The data was presented in a talk by Richard Noakes on Thursday, 2nd October, 7.30-9.00 pm on Zoom, and the recording is available here.
