B-Snug hybrid heat pumps are coming to Hope Valley

Hybrid heat pump

Passivsystems https://www.passivsystems.com are working work with Shell and EDF to deliver a hybrid heat pump system to Hope Valley.

B-Snug hybid heat pumps https://www.b-snug.com is being rolled out on the back of two government grants – the renewable heating initiative and the metering and monitoring service package. This means the installation will cost you virtually nothing. There is, however, a constraint. For now, the grants only apply to homes on LPG or oil.

Eight households have already signed up. If you are interested and think you qualify contact Steve Platt.   mailto:steve@carltd.com.

Installing a B-Snug Air Source Heat Pump alongside your oil or LPG boiler means that the smart controls automatically choose the most appropriate fuel source to deliver you warmth and comfort, when you want, in the most cost efficient way. The big advantage is that you don’t have to change the rest of your central heating system nor do you need to increase the size of your radiators. B-Snug Heat Pumps only need a small amount of electricity to operate, making them one of the most efficient ways to heat your home. The smart controls use local weather forecast data to manage heat demand from your dual fuel system giving priority to the heat pump.

Once installed Passivsystems, together with our grid Distribution Network Operator (DNO) Northern Powergrid, may be interested interested in making Hope Valley a demonstration project with funding from Innovate UK. The reason grid operators and the government would be interested is to manage the anticipated increase in electricity demand with the switch to electric vehicles without failures in supply or huge investment in new grid infrastructure.
